Fuel Up On Diner Classics At Edinger’s Filling Station

Explore Pontiac’s Throwback Themed Diner

Quaint, Clean and Nostalgic are just come of the ways Route 66 enthusiasts describe Edinger’s Filling Station. Originally a small garage, complete with overhead door, is now filling up hungry visitors instead of vehicles.

This popular breakfast- lunch-brunch place starts hopping at 6:30am to get you ‘tuned up’ for your busy day. Build your own omelets and ‘the best biscuits and gravy’ have been making its way to the plate of hungry diners for three generations of cooks. But no worries! If sleeping in is your thing, you can brunch and lunch your way through to 2pm on weekdays.

Try the chicken pot pie some reviewers are calling ‘the best I ever had’, finishing off with homemade desserts. Cute menu lists coffee offerings as ‘leaded and unleaded fuels’ and traditional sides of potato salad and macaroni and cheese can be found under ‘accessories’.

So what makes this place so special? Well, there is the daily specials list (you’ll have to ask), but we think the real secret is that Edinger’s Filling Station is just a stone’s throw from original Route 66 tarmac. Inquire at the Pontiac Route 66 Museum for current information, directions, and Mother Road etiquette. But before you venture out, kick some tires and loosen your fan belt and fill up at Edinger’s!
